StrikeMaster. Love it. Keep it in the house until you are ready to leave for the ice. Don't leave it / batteries out in the car overnight. The cold sucks the power out of the batteries if out overnight. I take my batteries out end of season and put them on a trickle charger. Otherwise, they won't last but 2-3 years.

On my 3rd season with the Strikemaster Electra 1200. I have never had a day when the battery wore out. Usually drill 15-20 holes for the day no problem with the 18 inches of ice. Drills great first thing in the am and late in the day after sitting out all day.

I use a Strikemaster Electra.  It works for me.  It will drill at least 15 holes and can be jumpered to an ATV or snowmobile battery or just carry an inexpensive spare.  I only use it when the ice is thick enough to take the wheeler.  If I'm on foot, the ice isn't that thick and I don't need a power auger.  Most important is it's quiet.

I also have the Strikemaster Electra. This is my 4th season with it and I haven't had any issues. I just picked up the lithium battery for it because it is lighter and lasts longer.
