Montrose
« on: Feb 16, 2014, 08:55 PM »
Fished Montrose this morning with a few friends. On the ice by 6:30 and catching perch by 7:00. Perch bite was a little slow to just ok most of the morning. Most fish caught on wax worms on a jigging spoon worked best for me. Minnows were also affective with slightly less results. Lots of dinks and a hand full of keepers mixed in.
Bonus fish for the day was a 36" northern caught on a tip up and a large roach. What a surprise it was and a great way to end the day. Fish was released back into the harbor for another fisherman to enjoy as much as I did getting it in. Thanks goes out to "Good Times" for the assist getting it landed.
