like Joe said, they are in there. I have caught a few 25"ers bass fishing in the last few years, but thats along side deeeeep water. I am not sure if they follow the same pattern in the winter months.

Attempted to drive out off Fitch Saturday, got about 100 yards past the furthest shanty before the snow got too deep for a full size truck.   Got unstuck, switched up spots, and walked off the state launch where we jigged a mixed bag of fish.

Fished off fitch today. Drag was absolutely brutal in most spots. Some spots you could almost walk on top of the snow and some spots sink through snow and slush to knees. Blue gill bite was off and on. They were either super aggressive or just sniff the jig and swim away. We fished 10' of water column but mainly jigged around 6'. Dead sticking worked the best. Me and my buddy had friendly competition first to 15 gils. It was basically neck and neck til the last fish. Funny as we got closer to 15 we could hear each other getting pissed when we missed a hookup. Fish #15 snapped my line and took forever to re-tie a knot because I could here him landing fish and he was catching up to me fast. He did win fair and square though. He hooked into fish #15 first. Super fun day on the ice. We caught 2 limits of gills and few bass. Gils and seeds ranged from 8.5"-10.5"
Best part was no wind finally.

Went out today off fitch for just a few hours,  brought the wheeler but had to stay on the previously established trail,  once off that the slush was impossible to push through, passed a truck stuck in the slush,  luckily some other guys were able to give him a tow, fishing was extremely slow, one flag for a pickerel

That was me stuck off Fitch - many thanks to the guys from Utica - it would have taken a looooooooong time to shovel the ice from underneath the frame - 4WD does you no good when the tires aren't touching the ground (or ice).

I WILL be back Sat and Sun! Hopefully smarter and with my buddy's 4 wheeler.

How's the walking out there, guys? Obviously no good for a machine, but will my feet stay afloat?

Sometimes. Haha   For the most part you will stay on top but some sections are badly drifted over or slushed and make walking real frustrating

The drag is much easier from the state launch but fishing was terrible today. Barely marked any fish and didn't catch much.  1 dink perch and that's it. Slowest day of season so far for me on toga.

I was one of the brave souls who fished from 11 till dark on Fitch ! Wind was brutal had to anchor every tie down and pile snow on the side but I stuck it out and me and my girlfriend crushed the bluegills! best part was close the shanry window and look down the hole and watch every fish bite !!!

I will be out there tomorrow if anyone wants to join. I will be on foot. Hoping drag is better than last time I was out. Felt the burn for sure.

I fished off the launch ramp this morning.  Near the ramp the ice is pretty good.  But I walked about 1/4 mile up into Fish Creek and ran into lots of slush, tough walking.  Water came out of some holes 2-3".  Tough drilling.

Wish I could report good fishing, but a few perch and one bass was it.

I fished off Fitch last weekend several hundred yards from shore and slush was brutal.

Just jogged off launch for about 30-40 min. Wind blew me off cause I'm with my dog. Only a few dink perch. Didn't have the patience today. Going to my crappie spot now

I saw you today ! I was in the black frabill about 100 yards off the launch .. With 2 other shantys near me , few dinks one good fish lost at the hole, wind blew us off Fitch so we ended up at the launch , didn't realize how deep it actually was in front of that launch!

yeah, I ended up at Fitch for a bit. That wind was shaking the shanty pretty good. Ended up with 5 species today. But was pretty good for a while and then shut down.

Yes, icelife4, it drops off there pretty quick in a few spots lots of good fishing in the channel there and all down the creek. Explore a little & you can find some decent spots near by.
