After getting home from work last week I frost bite my throat during walking the dog one of those cold days. After a couple of days I came down with a fever and and started hacking up phlegm. Ol' Mother Nature said what to heck and tossed in a head cold all for my pleasure. After a week of that and doing family things I plan to get out this week.

That sucks SeisMec, hope you get to feeling better.  I think I am going to head over to Sakakawea in the morning.

Nice!  I haven't caught an eelpout since I fished LOW in the 80s.  Where are they in ND?

Anywhere in the Missouri river system...but they are getting kinda rare.   In the 80's and 90's there were tons of BIG ones.. the several of the IGFA world records for line class were caught in the tailrace...  Sakajawea is usually better than Oahe though,IMO for catching LING!

Yep, the fish in the picture came from the big lake in the New Town area. The ling woke me up just before 2am and I tell ya what, it was pretty entertaining having that thing on the fish house floor with me when I was barefoot and didn't have my glasses on :o

Hit Devils Lake for a couple hours late this afternoon.  My wife caught a little walleye and that was it.  Tried a spot off the NGCamp in 38 FOW and only marked three coming in.  Can't get out till next weekend now.   :'(.

My buddy and I were just up to Devils lake. First time there, fished for 3 days over by the casino. We did good, came all the way from southern Wyoming. I would go again for sure. We marked more fish then we caught in about 50 fow just had a hard time getting them to bite

I hope you guys are all fishing cause there's sure no one posting.  Picked up my new Zack Shack on Tuesday and will take it out for it's maiden voyage onto the ice tomorrow morning.  Hope to share pics of it's first limit tomorrow eve.  Good luck everyone!

Set up the Zack Shack on our favorite Devils Lake walleye hot spot on Saturday.  We were a bit late in the AM so only got two keepers.  Lost a couple and had a snot rocket break my wife's line. I don't think I have ever seen her so angry.  Glad it wasn't me she was mad at.

In the evening we caught one limit between the two of us.  My wife missed a couple, again raising her anger, again I'm pleased it wasn't me.  We also got two northerns landed.  Both in the 28" to 30"inch range.  Found a guy that wants them for pickling so didn't have to throw them back down the hole to chase the walleyes away.

I was pretty pleased with the Zack Shack and how easy it was to pull through the snowbanks set up.  My wife really liked it and said it was a good purchase several times.  So life is good!!!  Just have to get a few accessories added to make it a bit more organized.  Too much stuff sitting on the floor taking up space.

Sorry, no pics.   :-\

HelloHelloHelloHello

Is anyone in here? here? here? here?

I feel so alone here.  Hasn't anyone anything to say?  I spent all day on the Devils Lake ice Wednesday.  Caught a few walleyes in the morning.  Went looking for perch at around 10:30.  Marked them all over the place but couldn't get them to bite.  I ran into a couple of Minnesotans from around Brainerd who were having no luck at all and gave them the walleyes I had.  I spent the late afternoon at my walleye honey hole and caught a limit that are in the freezer waiting for me to fry them up some evening.  Nothing big but nice eaters.  All in all it was a fine day on the hard water.  Hope you all are fishing cause no one is here saying anything.

Heard the echo - thought i would chime in.

I just joined Ice Shanty a few months ago so relatively new to the site.  We fished devils lake a couple of weekends ago.  Did okay.  Lots of fish on the camera but couldn't get them to go.  Headed out tomorrow morning to hit some smaller lakes around Bismarck.  Will be back in DL in two weeks.  Hoping to change our luck a little from last the last time we were up there.  We hit Blacktiger and East DL.  Also spent some time at Six Mile.  Drilled lots and lots of holes.  Caught 30 walleyes one evening but most were 8 inch fish.  Did just okay on perch.

I have been doing a little fishing too.
Sunday evening fished Van Hook and only caught a few small perch.
Monday morning fished Goose and caught 5 decent perch.
Monday evening fished Devils Lake and caught LOTS of smaller eyes.
Tuesday fished DL all day but tried deeper water and caught a few nice perch and a couple eyes.
Wednesday afternoon fished Darling and caught a pike and a couple perch.
Today fished Van Hook again and only caught 2 small perch.
The perch seem to be really picky this week on every lake I have fished, hopefully they pick up again soon.

Been out to Darling a few times and have done ok. 15 one day and 13 the next time I went with most fish around the 10in mark but a few above 12in. Was hoping to get out this weekend but with this wind I decided not to go. Hopefully on Tues or Thurs ill make it out. Anyone got any advice on where and how to get the walleye?  Im confident I can find the perch but would some eyes to go with them. If anyone wants some more info let me know happy to help. Goodluck and stay safe.
