Dink Dink Dink that's about all you hear for a few days LOL trust me I run enough of them. One of the most boring jobs out their. Unless you are 200 ft up on top of a bridge busting out the deck under you.  That makes a few things Pucker doing that

Maybe the village idiot should try attaching the auger shaft to the vertical shaft of say a ....25HP outboard.  At least it comes with a handle,  a speed control,  usually electric start and reverse if the auger gets a little stuck.   Hell it's even got a built in mounting bracket to put a fridge lifter under it so you can wheel it around.

Plus gear reduction!! Why stop with a 25 hp outboard?? If you're going to use a fridge lifter under it, I say let's up the ante to a much larger unit such as a 90 hp four stroke!!! Let the silliness continue!!!!

You may have better luck with DIY snow mobile Think Go Cart for snow...  I Googled DIY snow mobiles and some cool stuff shows up..  Make something small that can pull a man and sled and you could patent it..

I myself see this as a possibility as I am a LawnBoy mower collector and have thought for years about building one, I would just be adapting the LB engine to fit on an older jiffy or SM 3 HP gear box.

thewyler- I have done both. I have used a small push mower engine with a rototiller gear box, and an 8in bit. No heavier than anything else and works great. I have also made an auger out of a 31cc weedeater engine with a 6in bit, also works great. So it can be done. Im a mechanic and get bored...
