Mixing minnows in the same bucket?

I plan to pick up some small shiners to use with my jig rod, but it would also be nice to have a couple pike minnows to throw on the tip ups. Is it okay to mix different types/sizes of minnows in the same bucket so I only need to carry one out onto the ice? Does anyone have any experience doing this?

I mix bass and crappie minnows all the time. Also do minnows and shiners too. Never seem to have an issue.

I put pike bait in same bucket as small and medium shiners.I have never had a problem

I always mix.  The only downside is that when I reach in and grab one  I invariably get a size I don't want.

Mixing minnows is fine.Small baits with big creek chubs is not,if the smalls will fit in the chubs mouth thats where they will end up.

I always mix. For me it's worth sorting through rather than taking two buckets.
