Cut some holes....caught some fish

Fished Summit today and had a bay all to myself. The ice was 2" thick up to a ridge and just on the other side it was 1". A little hairy but I managed 24. Mostly 8 to 9 inch bluegills and a couple of perch. Would have been 25 but I walked about 50 yards away and a Blue Herron snacked on one of my perch! I fed the sneaky stork a few tiny ones before chasing him away.

Jigmup, nice gills!!! Congrats. Where is Summit located, I live in Hobart (Gary). Those look like the gills we used to catch at Willow Slough a couple of decades ago!!! Take care, and have a safe and happy holiday!!!  Go Bears!!!

Where you jigin a rap for some eyes?? I went to Morse last night for about 1 hour, and caught two keeper crappie right at dark, I was to scared to put the shanty up on 2 inches, and it got cold when that sun went down... I will be back out tonight though as long as that snow isn't piling up to high.  Shouldn't take to long to get a limit. Hopefully  ???

Those Herons can be pretty damn bold. There was one that used to hang out on North Snow Bay I saw him consume the contents of a guys minnow bucket one day! LOL
