Ladies and gentleman,
In lieu of the typical Ice Shanty.com gathering. I'd like to present to you the first annual Jake's fishing for a cure benefit tournament!

Jacob is a 9 yr old boy planning an ice fishing tournament to raise money for his rare brain condition, Chiari Malformation. He planned 90% of this tournament and now his parents are here asking to help this boy raise money for research.

The tourney is Saturday March 1,2014 at Lake George (Million dollar beach) Registration is at 6. Tourney starts at 7... Jake plans to do a demonstration and to hand out great prizes to the winners. It's a $10 entry fee. All the proceeds will go to conquer Chiari.

Come out and show your support for this little man and his brother, Brennan that have put a lot of hard work into planning a great day of fishing.

Important notice for anyone fishing the tournament.
Here is a run down of our rules and how we will determine our winners.
I've settled on our exact rundown of our tourney.
Adult class: $10 entry fee. All of which will go to benefit Conquer Chiari.
Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Prizes are yet to be determined.
Places will be determined by a combined total length of your 5 biggest fish.

Kids 14 and under fish for free. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Prizes yet to be determined.
Places will be determined by the total length of your biggest individual fish.

We will also be doing a 1st place only prize for a lunker category. Biggest fish wins. Any species by length. Prize is also yet to be determined.
NO FROZEN FISH WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR MEASUREMENT!
Registration will be from 6 until 8 am. Fishing may begin immediately.
All measurements will be done by 3pm so be sure to give yourself enough time to get checked in at the end of the day.
Times of check in will be tracked in the event of a tie. In order to break a tie the earliest to check in fish will win.
Hopefully I have all bases covered. We will not deviate from this formula, but any and all advice is welcome. Feel free to pipe up with any questions or concerns.

Worth noting:
This is not going to be a high incentive tournament. It's for charity and bragging rights basically.
I am still in the process of obtaining prizes for our winning fisherman and kids.
Prizes so far will include a custom built perch rod, tipups, jigs, etc...
I'm still looking to fill a few prize spots if there are any willing to help.

If I fall short, my family business has agreed to help out to provide prizes for our winners.

Our biggest incentives will be food and fun! There will be raffles and plenty of grub.

I shared this on my fb page after my cousin in law Tomas Deyoe told me bout it perch slayer. Can you pre reg or only the day of the event. I have a solid five guys that are going be going with me right now that want to get in?

I'll be there. I have a couple tables and if my conopy is still in decent shape under your stairs i'll be bringing that too..lol I also hope to have a big pot of perch chowder to share too.

I'm not too worried about it.
It may end up being a blessing as this is my 1st attempt at hosting a tourney.
We'll probably see 200 people that day (1/2 fishing).

The wife says long as I get the freezer full of perch this year she will carve something for the event ? Any suggestions !!! Maybe a fish ... Bear ? Hahaha
