I'm coming up with a friend who grew up on the lake but has never ice fished it. I was planning on bringing a small stud free sled to pull my shanty out.

coming up soon... gonna jig for smelt then run down to cross roads when they open... fishing off eagle 2 man suitcase shappel 10 traps if you see me come say hi and bullspit for a little while..

crossroads is opening around 6 now. the new baitshop in pottersville is open at 5 on the weekends. has bait and grubs and some tackle and is less than 5 minutes from eagle point.

I'm sitting at crossroads right now waiting for them to open. Pretty sure they open at 630 still. Going to go fish Brant in the rain. Gonna need some coffee for this one I think. Better be getting some

i'll be out. i have a bunch of guys coming up from downstate. we'll be fishing schroon and paradox for lakers if we can get on the ice. good luck and tight lines!

Got on at Eagle today. Used boards, shoreline was open. Set four tip-ups for lakers and one set for salmon. Cought one Perch. Guy I met coming off said His group cought 2 lakers early then it shut down for them. They were on a four wheeler, and I don't know where they were able to get on and off. 12" of good ice once your on.

Shores are real bad. What makes things worse is the lake was way low when it first froze, and now it has come up a lot. Steep shoreline access is ok with a plank. Colder weather this weekend should button things up. Once you're on, 12 plus inches good ice.

Guys are getting on behind Stewarts, to the left of the boat launch, off the main dock, step down onto the lake. No other tracks. Off Fowler broke through, one of two cold nights and that should be good.
