Click the link for record data of Lake Erie Water Temperatures  - Normal and Extremes for each day of the year - All data is for the years 1927-2012

We're 2 deg. below the normal for water temperature, on Dec. 3.

AONO9,
Your going to believe the weather forecast that far out ?Last night in Dunkirk we had almost as much snow than the"BIG STORM" last week, just deal with the weather day by day otherwise you'll never go outdoors.I've stayed home instead of hunting or fishing because of weather and missed too many nice days because of it.

Two weeks... Be rough going out for awhile but we will all knock that trail down within a few weeks. Should be another great season out there!

I just checked silver bay in canada near sherkston beach, went out 150 yards and found 3.5 feet of snow and white ice, didn't venture any farther yet.

I was out looking at sturgeon pt. yesterday. From top of hill in the lot, ice as far I can see.  A little open water at the marina and outside the wall, other than that, all ice.  It looks like it might be a rough ride but it hasnt locked up yet.  Im sure Mother nature isnt done messing with our plans yet.

I took a ride down to hamburg beach this morning. There's some mountains to climb to get out. Lots of chunked ice..however it looks like a "paystreak" of black ice from a gap that must've been open not log ago. That black ice is smooth and goes for miles north west. We can only hope it stays like that. The first quarter mile out is going to be interesting no matter where on the lake.  Oddly enough I drove down by the river today and the fast moving water all through the river has frozen over also. I personally haven't seen this before. Pretty neat! Won't be long just as long as the heavy winds coming and south east winds don't ruin what's started!

I'm no expert but I don't think we're gonna have good ice this yr out on Erie. Warm up will help , melt snow on top of ice and re freeze . Hope we do ,had a great time out there last yr.

Invest in some ice climbing gear and you will be fine, this wind is pushing our end back together temporarily!!!

well good news & bad news, good news all the rough ice all pushed over in front od wendt beach . bad news there's open water out in front of sturgeon pt. it is freezing up nicel;y and all nice flat ice going out a long ways. hopefully wind won't screw it up and it freezes just the way it is. supposed to stay cold for a while according to weatherman, keep fingers crossed.
