Good thinking on the door prop. I have a small box you may want to copy for the first ice trips. It is a carry on made by some guy from the Kawneer Co. I think you could make one. I only have the skills with wood mostly.

Just put this one together for a trip last week. All aluminum, used snowboards for runners they seem to keep it up on the snow pretty well. pulls easy and holds all our gear. The augar sits on the top and the coleman heater warm's it up for a heated seat.

it may pull easy with that machine in the back round " lol" but it looks like a bear to load on a trailer or in the back of a truck. how ever i do like it, and I'm jealous. it is a great looking box. nice job.

I am getting old but I can pull it by hand. LOL  2 of us can put it in the truck with the Jiffy on it.If i take it off i can grab the side rails and get in the truck alone.

Hey  bogmanjr

 Nice pull.

Looks like it slides great and I really like the size and also that  you have kept it light.. So it takes two to take it in and out of truck.. no big deal.. as long as one can pull it.. then no harm.. Like the size.. and I tend to pack to much stuff. but would rather have it with me than not.

 Great Build .   :)

 Regards,  Take Care.

Hi JustOsmo

I like your sled, "Love the sleds Mascot".

What if you were to use the same wood you have there and make up a kinda  " L" shape shelf with cut corner to corner sides to give it some more support then screw the heck out of it to the end of the unit right where the plastic box is sitting now.. and then you would have the shelf ( or support) fixed to the unit and the box will sit in it and could be removed easy and you also could put way more stuff in it , if you had to.
Know what I mean??    It would be a easy drawing to show Ya.. and also it would not be that much more weight and if you hit a large pump the box may have less chance of jumping off the little wooden lip.

Do you have the inside of the sled divided up with sections? ( to keep some things in place)
Also like the Skies a lot, I bet  it will pull very easy.. ( Man I would put so much stuff in there... LOL..) I'm a pack rat..LOL

 Good job Osmo
I look forward to seeing more pics of it.

Hey Duck Doctor

Love the Rack. Nice and high and keeps the auger up out of the way . Gives you room to work around it and store stuff if needed.

Great build. Nice set up. :)

Thanks man!  I can cruise across the lakes at around 40mph and not lose a thing!  I did change to ratchet straps instead of bungees though.

Ya a Ratchet strap sounds like a better way to go than the bungee.  Nicer to be able to pull the Augur tight into the base of the holder.

Man, Going that fast sounds like a way better way to travel than trying to pull my sled across the ICE by foot........LOL..

I used to load up the ice fishing stuff and ride the trails for about 15 miles to the lake instead of packing the car. I had the extension freeze up on me once which made for an exciting ride on the trails!

Hello everyone.
Hope all had a great summer.
Here are some ice of my Ice Fishing Sled now. I put some wheels (Phase Three) on it and also worked on the Propane Stove holder and stove table.
First pic is a pic of the 5/8" Pot metal pipe that is inside all of the 3/4" PVC Tube.

It is not glued as of yet and it will also have a wind deflector on it. ( Around the stove area.)

I know I have pics in a different off topic thread, but I might as well post my sled pics here being it's more appropriate.  The dimensions are 2x4x1.  There is a drawer in the front to slide in the auger/rod bag/Marcum.  Everything else fits in the rear box, lantern, sunflower heater, fish bucket, and minnow bucket.

Hey all, Thanks

Yes  Maniehazmt, Very easy ( to remove)- Rear tires are on with a Hair pin cotter style pin. Front tires - the whole front steering system comes off and the front bumper  stays on. ( Speed wrench 2'3" threaded bolts hold the front end in place)

The only thing the stays on is the rear axle, and time will tell if that gets in the way.
The wheels are strickly for summer time fishing and yard work and have two friends that want to barrow it for a Archery hunt next year.( just for there gear) and I'll use it for camping.

Thanks jasond37
Yours has everything also that one needs.

More pics of it kinda loaded up from last year on Page 8 of this thread. ( in the beginning)

This year I'll have a Propane stove holder on it and and a table to hold the stove and I'm also buying a " Eskimo" Ice Auger" to put on it some where....  LOL...

It pulls nice on those sliders. and should be even better this year with a pulling handle instead of a Rope set-up.

Hi " fishlessman"
G'Day

That works just fine. I love the Skies. I bet it pulls like a dream, with or with out the ATV.
You also have so many options left.( If you choose).  Some well place extra Eye Bolts on the sides and you have the
capability to bungee strap extra stuff on top if only needed.

LOL.. Oh, oh, that is me... LOL.. I'm slowly turning into my DAD. Collect it all and haul everything, including the neighbors Kitchen sink.   LOL.

It looks and I bet it works great Fishless. (As a Taxi included)

plan is to put a rail in the center to slip the camp stove in but will lose the center  seat, not much of a problem. maybe two pvc pipes that slip into a holder on the back side with some canvas to create a back about 3 feet high to block some wind that can be removed and stored inside. also need to come up with a small shelter for the brit, he is not made for this and lets you know it ;D so far all the parts were free, thats the best part
