Brushy Creek

Have not seen much info on Brushy lately, does anyone know how the ice is there ?
And without giving away too many secrets how is the fishing?

Fished off  the north end straight out tonight. There was about five inches of ice and we picked up 7 keeper crappie. We went out from 6pm till around 9. Didn't mark a whole lot while trying to locate them.

Went up this am for a few hours. Fishing was ok. Crappie n bluegill. Shut off around 1 so we packed up and headed back home. Fished off north end on 5 inches of ice. Some crazy *****s had ATVs and a side by side out. Not sure how thick the ice was where they were but seems a lil early for them... Especially only a hundred or so yards off the ramp.

I think the majority of people have been on the North end.  I fished yesterday afternoon north of the fishing pier, was 7-8".  Didn't catch a lot or even mark much but was great to get out for the 1st time this year.  I didn't move around so can't report any other ice thickness.

Ive been hitting it late mornings and afternoons......usuall y pull up 10-15 crappies and 20-25 gills. Crappies have been in the 9-13 inch range with dinks here and there. Using mostly jigs and red spikes.

duncombe is just a couple miles north of it. Has minnows, waxies, spikes, food, drinks and a bit of tackle. Most guys I talk to stay in either fort dodge or webster city.

Night bite was much better caught 10 decent Crappie and a handful of gills, Ended up with 2/3 of a 5gal bucket of fish between the two of us. Advice from my first trip of the year....get there early 530/6A and fish till 9A or evening bite 2pm to 6. We didnt get much from 9a untill about 4pm.

Anyone else make it out yesterday. Was wondering if anyone had made it south at all or if north was the place to be. Taking the wife out tomorrow so any advice would be great. More fish I put her on the more I get to fish tomorrow. Haha.

Returning the poles and finding the owner says a lot about Ninja's character.  Very Nice!  @)
