Need to bring this up to the front for us Southwest Iowa fishermen..  A lot of good info on here.  Just dropped some coin on some jigs today.  The ice can't come soon enough!

I'm surprised you get fishable ice down there.

Great ice down here.  Last year I fished from the day after thanksgiving into March.  Some years are better than others.  Not many permanent houses out but it's tough to beat southwest Iowa farm pond ice fishing.

Not to mention the perch and crappie bite on twelve mile and walleyes on three mile...... Green valley should be a hot mess this year as well.... SW Iowa great lakes should be exceptional this year!!!

Never to many short poles

Hammered the Crappie this weekend on a private farm pond. 12-14 inches.  Transferred 50 to a different pond.  I know where my first stop is going to be ice fishing this year!
