Ice is 6 to 8 inches. Felt solid. Perch were hungry and biting hard. Walleyes made an appearance in the afternoon which was a nice surprise. A tad windy but a good day to start the season.

Maybe he wanted to see how others were doing!?... Anyways! Going out today! We will see what happens!
The ice angler is a different breed of fisherman. Undeterred by distance, daylight or degrees, these warriors go to extreme measures to chase down the fish attempting to wait out winter below the frozen surface. Through 10-inch holes positioned amidst miles of ice they engage the elusive walleye one-by-one, yeah it's crazy, and some may never understand it.

Hi bobcat perch,
If you would like a nice light ice auger that won't produce fumes in your shack or spill gas in the vehicle then an
ION electric ice auger might be what you are looking for.  :)
I have seen them in action, they seem to do their job well and cut hole as fast as any other auger.

The handles and drill are the same on all strikemaster augers. And all of the people I know who have strikemaster have had zero problems, besides going for regular tune ups.

Fished BP this afternoon.  Caught one pike in the first spot. Found some perch on spot number 2. No size to the perch but caught about 20.

Ice was fairly consistent at 8".  Was only on south side of lake. Not much snow cover, ice is pretty rough from last weeks snow and rain.
