Well be extra careful man, I would rather hear from you than hear about you!!

The difference between an 8" hole and a 10" hole is.....a 10" hole will usually give you your boot back!

Taking a drive out tommorow to check it out. Taking a rod along just in case!
The ice angler is a different breed of fisherman. Undeterred by distance, daylight or degrees, these warriors go to extreme measures to chase down the fish attempting to wait out winter below the frozen surface. Through 10-inch holes positioned amidst miles of ice they engage the elusive walleye one-by-one, yeah it's crazy, and some may never understand it.

It was 3" just south east of the cosway, sorry should have specified. We were walking on off of the shore at North Shore Resort. But like buddy said there is no moving water at the cosway right now, looked locked up right under the bridge. That was Wednesday, I imagine it's considerably thicker this weekend! Gonna be good ice this year if the snow stays away a little longer!
A bad day of fishing beats a good day of work.

Catch all the beer, drink all the fish. YEE YEE!

Well I was a crazy soul and walked out from loneys today, plenty of walkable ice, 4-6" Only went about about  50 yards out. It's game on!! This coming weekend will be safe for sure! Dropped a line for a bit and my flasher never even flickered at me :( hope next weekend is better!

Fished all day on it today, besides 1"-2" of water on top of the ice it was fine, a good 10" of ice

I guess i have a photo with the amount of slush after drilling, note some of it's all spred around the hole and it was +4 out there and that was one of our first holes a hour later or so.

Morning guys (and girls?) just signed up! Before stumbling onto site I thought I was one of a few crazy ones who preferred the hard water...nice to have friends! Does that mean I am any less crazy? Was MD hunting yesterday down south, but chickened out because of the weather and came home last night...
Had my shack out on lml for previous two years, did ok, but seriously considering the pound this year..any trouble with damage or theft there? Lml has been good that way, guys looking out for each other. I must admit tho the might dodge has given more pulls then received   :)

You're taking a step backwards going from LmL to Buffalo pound. You wont catch walleye on Buffalo like LmL.

Cheers!!

Is there no eyes on the pound? Or just tough to pinpoint? How do you get onto the ice? Only from the west, and does it stay open all winter?

Was out last weekend for a few hours at Loney's, 7-8" of nice black ice everywhere I seen.  Had a couple fish show up on the flasher but nothing interested in biting.  It was windy and rainy for most of the day then it calmed down and the sun even came out for the last hour or so.

Big thanks to the guy who let me use his auger to drill a few holes, my center chip blade is no good and it wouldn't drill down at all!

Ice should be nice and thick by the weekend with these lower temps coming up but everyone be safe and check the ice frequently.
