if you go out to a big lake and punch a lot of holes, how do you mark your favorite??

I mark mine with a one foot by one foot piece of 1/4" plywood, that I painted flat black. I cut a hole in the center and a slot, so I can use them for my tipup covers also.

Navionics App on my smartphone.
Can also add markers for depths as you drill holes and use a flasher to get the depths.
Best $10 i ever spent..

it's the hole with the most mangled shiners layin on the ice . quite often there's alot of hydrilla and milfoil near by. sort of looks like a salad gone wrong type thing. lol

Fish blood marks the good ones for me. I don't have to do anything.

On bigger lakes with crowds I jig a hole. Once ready to move I throw a tip up in it an move to the next. Then repeat proccess. Sometimes you get lucky and land fish with the tip ups. Win Win. Saves and marks your hole and you still can catch fish while fishin a different hole.

I put a big sign up that sez: "Fish Here!" Only I put in in English, so nobody else can understand it. ha ha ha

I walk to the bank and get a small piece of a stick about 6" long and lay it next to the hole. Most people walk right by thinking its just crap blown on the ice not even knowing I'm marking a brush pile or weedbed holding fish.

I do the same, except I use 2-3" and already have a some in my pocket RTG...
