"The Dickey Pearl is a single-point hook with a pea-sized, round blob of white, luminescent plastic just below the hook eye. True to its name, the round piece of plastic resembles a pearl. Between the hook eye and the plastic pearl, are many slivers of rubber threads available in several different colors. A white Dickey Pearl with white rubber threads and a tiny bit of red floss can really attract fish under the ice. The jigging action under the ice causes the threads to move, and the pearl reflects light making curious fish take the bait"

Dickey Tackle Co. In Wisconsin.    What a great mail order company !
I think I still have some Dickey Pearl ice jigs and also have some of the Dickey "Skin-Yas" ice flies which were basically a small split shot that was pinched onto an aberdeen hook and soldered closed.  They painted them in a fluorescent flame red or orange and tied one small yellow piece of marabou above the split shot.   They caught a ton of fish for us years ago.
Dickey always had the coolest items in their catalogs.   I still have a couple of their jigging rods with the ash handles and metal spool reels mounted on a threaded shaft.   The line ran through a small hole in the handle before going to the first guide.
I'm sure if I do some looking, I can find an old Dickey catalog.   Think I got my first on in the mid 70's    Kind of remember that they had some little dog that made it's way onto the front and back cover with some silly caption about how the dog loved to ice fish.
Bring back some good memories ! ;) ;D

Just remembered something else they offered.   It was called Kena Baits if I remember correctly.  They came in a small tin like a chewing tobacco tin.  Inside were the most disgusting smelling 1 1/2 inch strips of semi cured strips of pig skin or horse hide that I've ever smelled !   It was a version of cut bait I guess and it did have action and didn't come off the hook.    Never caught a fish on it though  ;D

Just remembered another item that Dickey Tackle Co. offered .   The Original Dickey "Ice Off" bobber.   They were the black and yellow sponge bobbers that you'd just squeeze when they iced up.  I used them all the time up on Sandy Pond when we used to get real winters and had no modern conveniences like portable shacks and heaters  ;D    I found a few of them in a old box a few years back....hard as rock !

Awesome !
Somewhere around here, I have a bag of Dickey Pearl Bodies that they used to sell if you wanted to make your own jigs.   Might even have a few that I tied up over 30 years ago lurking around here somewhere !
  Great find ! ;)

Great looking old jigs. I may look for some pearls.

Hey Riverrat, try some of these for perch flies. I garoontee they work ;D They're my own concoction.

The beads are crimp on. Came from Joann Fabrics . A whole bag of sterling silver or gold plated  a few bucks.
