Alford Pond in Hope
« on: Feb 25, 2013, 05:36 PM »
Me and my buddies were thinking of fishing Alford pond in hope. We was wondering if anyone had any tips on where to fish, what for bait, or anything that could help us. We just want to catch some browns and I've been told that's a good place to go. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you go bring smelts for bait that place is full of them.

Yeah and they caught a 9-9.5 pounder out of there the day we were there

"Waldoboro resident Jared Simmons caught the biggest fish, a 10.02-pound brown trout, at Alfred Lake in Hope.

The lifelong fisherman said he hooked the fish, his biggest catch ever, around 7 a.m. and landed it with help from his brother after a 30-minute fight. "

if you know anyone with a pic i'd love to see that beast

Those were the only two fish we caught all day. My buddy was shaking like crazy when he caught the bigger one. It took him like 10 minutes to land it he just wouldnt come up through the hole

Not me. I fish alone. With nobody else.
And when I fish alone, I prefer to be by myself. ;D

Too bad most anglers aren't like you old fart. Most on here are out for that trophy pic of a nice fish. I even get more of a kick outta the ones that feel the need to put (pic) in their topic headline!! Ha, especially the adults!! I can understand it when its a kid and there excited, thats great to see, but when theres some 45yr old holding up a togue and he has to rush on here and blast pics to boost his ego and he's so worried that EVERYONE see his trophy pic that he has to post (pics) in the headline like we aren't gonna figure it out on our own, its pretty sad!!
