best auger for ice gator?
« on: Jan 07, 2013, 04:06 PM »
Thinking of replacing the 8" Nils I'm using now, maybe a Lazer? I would like to be able to carry spare blades and maybe sharpen the blades myself.  Would like to see something that evacuates the chips a little better.  Of course I don't want to give up any cutting ability!  What's everybody running?

Most people rant and rave over the nils.  But your reason about the blades is the reason I didn't get one.

I have a 8 in laser on mine. I like it a lot and I have 2 sets of blades for it.
I got 3 years use with ice gator the first set of blades.  I didn't notice any issues but I figured it was a good time to change them last week.

And I just picked up a used 8in laser off of craigslist for $25.  Just because they are almost $100 new.
