Mass Trout

The 3 on the stringer were caught December 26th.  I went back with a few  days later and we absolutely killed the rainbows. It was the 2nd best trout fishing I have experienced through the ice, caught both on traps and on the jigging stick. We landed about 15-20 the second trip and had many others lost at the hole. A small pickerel was the only other fish we landed other than rainbows.  A pic of my nephews first bow and fish through the ice.  He landed 3 that day.  Ice was 2-3" on Dec 26th and about 3-4" of good ice the second time.

Nice catch! The look on your nephews face must have been priceless. I'm hoping to bring my nephew out this winter for his first time.

looks like he was psyched. Not sure who looks hooked worse that trout or him  :)
