Its bound to come sooner than later, but if you remember they were calling for 45 last week , and the closer it got the colder the forecast got!  It has to come to a end sometime!

the normal high has been 40. so we have been good for ice being we have had so many days much below normal temps.
watch for rotting ice if you are out next week. goes super fast! if in doubt, don't check it out!!

noticed the warm up coming two three weeks ago started out with temp rising to mid 30's during the day and teens at night...  from teen during the day and negative temps at night now we got 40's and 50's during the day headed our way... that's why  the ice wont last long that's why i said get it while you can.. i cant believe that people would not listen  ::) to what i had to say... trying to warn them to get out while they can but of course it happens..
were only human we can error... here the thread i started about the weather change...

56* with the shore ice dying fast. Last one to leave the party please turn off the lights. Had a decent year, went out much more than the previous couple of years. Did manage to get boots that could handle that cold, no more complaining here despite my age

I just looked at the aviation weather site I watch for wind direction and speed forecast. It only covers three days.

The lines is almost flat in the 30's with a couple of bumps to the low 40's. From a 45* high on Friday it slides back to 31* at 2 am Saturday. Looks like another cold trout opener. Fished openings in snow and sleet many times

Winds and rain finally drop off on Thursday evening.

Basically the same at my house. Lawn in major need of mowing, not doing it in the snow

looks like we are about one month behind. hardly any rain last month and now theres no stopping it any time soon.
at least its in the 80's and great for kayaking the same places we once had holes in the water not long ago.
probably will need air conditioning on soon too with the hot/humid air on the way.

wonder why theres no count down clock for ice fishing yet.

Did you get any of that snow yesterday? I remember crossing into Canada at the Soo back in 1962 by ferry (before the bridge) and hearing the chunks of ice coming out of Superior banging the boat the second week of May. Ended getting snowed out of our trip 71 miles up the Algoma RR due to snow.

It snowed a little Tuesday morning, the 19th. Not enough to matter, but enough to make it the topic of conversation for the day.

I just talked to one of the guys that was at the lake planting the fish the assn. bought. He comes from south of the soo. His wife is up there right now and told him they had better than an inch on the ground yesterday or the day before.

good thing its warm out with all of this rain, just think how much snow it would have made. rain day and night with maybe one day a week with out it.
looking at the forecast its rain every day and night for at least a week, again/still.

its good to see the lakes comming back up tho. i'm on rice creek and its flooding and has been for some time now.
maybe it will help get the fish back where they are used to be.

Have emptied a little over 13" of rain from the gauges since Memorial Day. Beats seeing the neighbors lawn go up in flames around this time a couple years ago but enough is enough. Did get a bumper crop of Strawberries and it's looking the same for the Raspberries, Tomatoes are about the size of tennis balls and Bell Peppers like marbles already, beats a drought. Water to high to wade for river Smallies, lakes not overly high, at least it's not 90*

Break down and buy a therma cell. You will wonder why you did not buy one sooner. They also make one that is combined with a lantern for on the table. I saw the lanterns at a MC store  awhile back. I bought mine off of ebay.

The one made for hunting will work as well so it is multi purpose.

I bought one for my hunting buddy of 60 years this spring. He about bled to death calling in a tom for me in the spring of 2014 while I sat with out getting bit with my TCell. He never used it turkey hunting this spring as the skeeters never showed up with the cool weather. He uses it now as he sits on his property watching the deer most nights. He told me last night that he saw one at goodwill the other day for $2.00. Snatched it up and put fuel and repellant and good to go. He gave it to his gal friend.
