AvoidING ice for at least a week or two cause of Monday is in the low 50*f 's and warm air thin ice is not good..

was 52 monday and i got a hose out to wash things down and forgot it overnight and it was frozen and i had to heat up the spicket to be able to shut it off with a torch. was a nice day to install a new plow on the cub cadet.
so it's cold enough to fix shore ice (south) and the crappy ice that was on top of the good ice around here.

folks are on gull lake cam right now. looks like some slick ice!

39 today and 42 monday.

The weather service has an updated winter prediction for January, with close to average temps in the southern part of the state and below average temps up north. Better than above average.

2 days of 40 and rain and one night of 40 and rain should do some melting. if the winds are strong it should hurt it some too.
the rest of the forecast looks great!

we set up 30 minutes before sunset on 5" clear ice. had a blast! caught plenty of fish too. stayed until 11:30pm when we stopped marking them.
