22 this morning.  On the way to dropping kids to school, small pond completely locked up with skim ice!  Larger pond was 98% open water.  At least its a start as the water needs to drop around 8-10 degrees before we even get serious.

I saw ice on many different ponds, what a beautiful sight. One of the big box stores had ice fishing gear out.
If it passes the ruler test, put it in the ice chest. Hook it and cook it.

Just seen a prediction from the weather channel that said above average temps and precipitation for Dec thru Feb. Shaping up to be another iffy ice fishing season, I hate to say.

I didn't mean to be a doubting Thomas or a negative Nancy or a Debbie downer, I'm gonna fish either way someplace or somewhere, just might not be able to fish the big waters I dream about.

Looking at the extended forecast it looks like ice will start to form (and hopefully stay) starting next week Thur Dec. 8, 2016.....the 5 days following it's currently predicted to be below freezing for daytime highs & lows.  Here we go ya'll!!

The couple of deer I've cleaned this year haven't had much fat on them, the leaves have hung on longer that usual too. I can also recall  cold November's not equalling cold winters in the past, so I'm pretty sure it all means nothing
