I guess I used bad wording. It's not just the inspections though thatshe a problem for me as it is for others. I fish different lakes weekly sometimes Dailey. And I like being the first boat out there. Something about being our in the dark I like. I do think want to wait. I won't wait for my best friends in the morning I'm sure not waiting for someone to inspect my boat. All of that said, I was just sitting here talking with a friend about vertices jigging Lakers out of the boat and we're gonna give it a shot here soon. Need a wind free day.

You might want to give up on George then, I am always (feeling like) the first boat out there.  ;D I launch my canoe from a few known places whenever I want

There definitely is something about heading out 2-3am before ever astronomical twilight and watching the entire sunrise unfold. In late June when the days are almost endless daylight you might want to try just heading out in the evening and staying overnight. It's only 3-4 hours of true darkness.

all the times I have open water jigged the lake (usually december and march months) there was never anyone to do inspections, and we didn't have to worry about a lake tag.   I won't even bother with the lake any of the warm months.

is the million dollar launch open for boats?

I think he was talking about the inspection and not the permit.

I think we need some more laws and regulations in our society  :o

Do you need a permit before Memorial Day! I have never seen a place that has so many different rules. Do you have to pay to park? This is part of the reason I haven't gone near George in the last 20 years. The Rich people are trying to keep us off the lake!

All vessels that are 18ft or longer, or are mechanically propelled by motors of 10hp or greater, must register with the LGPC and display a registration decal.

I am willing to bet that like last season. The lake will move the permit date from Memorial Day. I do believe some
One chimed in on this thread or mff to let every one know the permits were available in April. They see opportunity when the beach is mobbed with boats. Boats that typically wouldn't use the lake due to the permit.

exactly,   I used my boat out there quite a bit, and never bought a decal...if no one is selling them yet, they can't get you for not having one - straight from the words of the LGBC.

Regulations state "Before the boat touches the water, be aware of the following:"
"............ must register with the LGPC and display a registration decal."

No

This is directly from the website.

From May 1st to October 31st, all trailered boats being launched into Lake George must undergo an inspection at one of the seven regional inspection stations around Lake George before they launch. The purpose of this inspection is to ensure that boats and trailers are clean, drained and dry, and are harboring no invasive species. Our goal is to keep Lake George clean for the future, so that we can all enjoy this lake in its current high quality state for generations to come. There is no cost to boaters for these inspections, or the washing of the boat and trailer if determined necessary by an inspection technician.

yeah...once again I will say away from LG.....not paying for a permit, and not going to chance arguing with someone about it after I launch.

The 2017 stickers have not been printed yet.           Any idea of when, and how will we know! Or do we call for a month to see if they have them. They have all winter to get them! What a system!
