Jone-e Handwarmer
« on: Nov 04, 2012, 06:09 PM »
anyone have one of those Jon-e hand warmers? they are like the zippo's. i fill the base with fluid. put the burner on and light it. let it stand for a few minutes and then put the cover on. works fine until i put it in the bag that comes with it. as soon as it goes in the bag, it goes out. any ideas?

I had a hand warmer but can't find it or remember the name of it but I think it was the one you're talking about.  Does the fluid come in a black can and can you post a pictue of your's?  You might need a new wick.

Let it get going at least 5-10 minutes....

That looks a lot like the one I had that I can't find but the packaging is different.  Then again I bought mine back in the late 1970s or early 1980s.

probably the same brand. had one back then as well. had not problems with it. don't know what happened to it. new one doesn't seem to work. won't buy another.

I have two of the Jon-E hand warmers and I have been using "methyl hydrate" found in the paint dept, in them for the last 7-8 years.Had to replace the wick and I used a round shoe lace, works perfect.
