Got the spud bar wet & the jiggin' pole bent. After finding a few inches of ice, Panfish and I were rewared with our first hardwater catches of the season. Oh, the axe helped too.

Glad to hear you had a good time on the first ice, here in Pennsylvania we have another month or two before we get out on the first ice. I'd move to Alaska in a second if my Wife and kids would come but since they won't I'm stuck here.

Glad to see someone is on the ice. Here in Ohio we are probably looing late Dec or early Jan. Good looking fish, but quick question: Why the coozie on your drink? Looks plenty cold to me... LOL JK.

Nothing like playin' hooky at work to make sure you're the first one on the ice. Bullhead's laker was 24" and fat, pretty impressive for a 5-10 acre pond.

Quartz had a little open area about 100 yards from the dock but there was snow on the ice over most of it. Harding is wide open as far as i could tell from the Rich. Birch was mostly covered except for by the road.

Very Nice only another month to go till we will be doing the same. But i like to think of it as only 0.0083 of a decade left till first ice lol.

It's pretty par for the course as far as first ice. I think the previous 2 years have been on the 15th of october.
