MARCUM Camera...Recording Video??????
« on: Feb 19, 2012, 06:30 PM »
Does anyone know of a small recording device that plugs into the RCA jack on the back of a MARCUM underwater camera...I have been looking online for something but cannot seem to find what I am looking for...any assistance would be great...Thanks

yeah, search around a bit. I don't recall exactly, Apek, Apic camcorders or any digital camcorder with an input jack can work, the Ap(whatever it is) ones mentioned are relatively cheap ( I think about 1/2 the price of the vex unit). I know I didn't solve it for you, but check your cameras for the jack, or look for one at pawn shops, ect to find a cheap used one.

I called Marcum today, after a lot of wasted time trying to find out what to buy. I just bought a new 825sd. They told me to go to 123.cctv.com and find a mini dvr recorder there, I assume it is this one

http://www.123-cctv.com/Portable-Video-Recorder/Mini-DVR.html

is made by Aqua view and is the same thing as the aqua view, without aquaviews name, accordin g to the tech I talked to at Marcum. I bought mine today on clearance for $99.95, the aquaview brand from red rock, as it was cheaper then the 123 site.

You are welcome. I clicked on redrocks site now, and see the price has doubled on the aqua view now. I must have got in on the tail end of their sale today.

It was in their Ice Fishing Clearance section this am, and now it is not in the clearance section at all. I must have gotten the last good deal. I bought my nib camera from them last week in the clearance section for $569, and now they are back up to $699.

The one from 123 looks like it has an AC power unit (maybe it's a charger as well)?  I didn't see a DC or battery powered options discussed.  Did your poking around address this issue by chance?
