Jig rod case
« on: Feb 16, 2012, 06:34 AM »
Does anyone make a good case for jig rods that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

I use an arrow case. I got it online for about $30. it handles 28" rods easily. not sure how long a rod it would accommodate though. i break down the handles on the reels and fit 7 rods or so in the case.

Otter Rod Box

Not the cheapest, but pretty well built.

Just got a Plano-Hard Bow Case.  Not too bad, $35 or so.  Then I went to look for some open cell foam to custom fit it.  To do the Job I want to do will cost me $50 in foam!!? >:(

I have this case as well. It works, but I wouldn't call it perfect. I find myself always looking through these threads for an improvement.

I can only fit about 4 combos in the plano case comfortably, and you need to fold in the reel handles on them as well.

i picked up this one http://icefishinginnovations.com/ you pay for it but no more tangled lines, no broken rods and u dont have to fold in the handles for storage so its a good investment in my mind, not sure what your budget is but my other one is just a $30 Cabelas one works fine but got sick of the tangled lines and having to fold in the handles everytime i pack up

6"H x 14.44"W x 40.63"L   $149.99 to hold rods is a little steep!!
