Comet Pond Hubbardston MA Fishing
« on: Feb 07, 2012, 06:28 AM »
Been a long time since the Doctor posted here, just wanted to check in.  Matty any luck this year?  Da-Bait Shop saw late Ice on Comet Pond (one month later than the previous 2 years) but when it was safe we saw Salmon catches come into the shop sometimes 20 minutes after bait pick up!  Weights ranged from 5 to 11 pounds.  As of this writing it seems like more trout are being caught.  Brigham and Moosehorn (AKA Little Comet by early settlers) had ice sooner than Comet, about a week or two.  Shiners seemed to be the bait of choice but as of late we have seen a rise in Meal worm sales along with Swedish Pimples.
Has anyone heard of a Bass Derby for this weekend-11th 12th of Feb?

See you all soon, and good luck!
Doc
