Oakland County Ice Report
« on: Jan 14, 2012, 11:46 AM »
Found 1 small lake with 3-4".  Going to try it tomorrow, as the parking lot is jammed packed.  I'm going scouting here in a bit.  I'll report on my findings.

My Mother lives on Ona.  Ever do any good out there?  Go ahead and send a pm so nobody will jump down your throat for mentioning a lake name.

I drove by, but seen what looked like open water around the sunken island and didn't bother stopping.

Thanks for the pm. Hope we can meet and fish soon.   Has your Aunt given a description of the trespasser?  Just wondering if it's the same guy as my Mom sees?

My Aunt calls him the potbellied stump. I take it he is short with a big belly and in camo. She called the cops once but he had left before the cop got there. He had to leave fast for an accident call.

Lake Angeles and Silver are just about a go. Do not venture out till you see others on the ice as it has current between the two. Once the hockey rinks pop up your in the clear. The notoriously big gills in Angeles head into the canals by Walton Blvd during the winter and the pike follow. Pretty easy access by parking at the 7-11 or bank/credit union. Heard rumor it has guys on it, but have heard many false reports lately for Oakland County. Plan on checking it out today.

.   Seriously? Is it all posted like that? Why would someone send people there if that's the case? I hope that isn't true because all I've seen here is people helping people.

Yes Twest, seriously. I literally live 5 minutes from there...by Loon. If I could get on Lake Angelus I would and Ive looked all over. I was gonna trade a homeowner a brick repair for lake access. Hope this helps. I checked quite a bit of ice today and found 4" in Milford on a canal. Loon, Oakland and Cass all had 1 and a quarter. Stay safe, it aint worth it!
