new light weight shanty build
« on: Nov 25, 2011, 08:18 AM »
traded my pop up style shanty for a 10 horse 4 stroke johnson over the summer so I decided to build light on this one.  Still need to put the metal on the roof and make a floor.  Used metal studs and glued 1/2" foaminsulation for for the sheeting.  It weighs less than 150# right now and hoping under 200# when finished.  Looking for 4 old snowmobile skis to mount to the floor/frame for easy pulling.

This is my old shanty that I traded for the motor.  It now belongs to one of my fishing buddies so I will still be spending many hours in it.

Nice I like the metal, I'm starting one here in the next couple weeks.  I was thinking of wire welding some electrical conduit (EMT) as a frame.

I have some metal roofing that I have to put on it.  I used 1/4" luan on the roof and ice and water shield over it for condensation reasons.
