There has recently been boats fishing at Hawkins.

So, I'm down to my local pub getting some grub and I was playing Pub Quiz with my buddies and their wives. Question comes up, what does the Inuit word Nanook mean? Light bulb, I always assumed it meant home or shelter based solely off of Clam's Nanook ice shelter.. I confidently insist I've got this one.. "oh your smart!"... turns out nanook means BEAR!!! Hahaha lost a little face, all in fun.

Best wings in st law county by the way guys right here at the Raquette River Pub in Colton. (Was previously Finsih Line/Hotel)... recently judged 1st place in the north country wing challenge 2016-2017..

Brandy brook, wilson hill, fobares pond and whitehouse bay all have a solid foot of good ice......coles creek needs help with the ice conditions as the wind keeps busting up the ice.....we still have a month before this derby.....the extended forecast looks great for more ice formation...

cranberry derby was a good day for me finally. Weather was decent, lake conditions were pretty sloppy with lots of slush. I took 2nd in the 11-12 hour with a 10.4 and my girlfriend took 1st in the 12-1pm hr with a 9.12. I was more excited for her fish then mine. Her biggest fish yet and it won her $493. Also weighed in a 5.4 and 3lber, missed 2 fish as well. The biggest fish of the tournament was a 18.10lber. 2 machines through the ice, but everyone was safe to my knowledge. Congrats to the other winners and hopefully everyone enjoyed themselves. Now recouping for Simon on Saturday.

Any day I catch a fish on cranberry is a good day, but Saturday just happened to be a good lucky day for us. I can't think of the number of days I spent sunrise to sunset out on cranberry without catching a pike.
