Tow Bar?
« on: Nov 02, 2011, 10:33 AM »
I have a Honda Rancher with a rear drop basket. I purchased a Frabill Predator and installed the Frabill Tow bar. When I go up an incline or turn the ice shack hits the rear rack. Is there a tow bar that is longer than this one that will work with my shack to eliminate this problem, or has anyone modified their bar to make it longer?

I made my own tow bar. I took 2 peace of 3/4" PVC 4ft. long and run a 1/2" rope though it. It works great and it only cost about 5 bucks.

The Frabill tow bar is heavy duty, just extend the tow bar, with square box tubing. Go to a steel supplier, get a piece of box tubing that fits inside and  piece with the same outside deminsions as the tow bar. Most suppliers have a  bin with cut offs, it's cheaper than buying a full lenght. Drill holes in the tubing to match the factory holes on the tow bar and the receiver thats mounted to the sled, then one thru the extension piece, nut and bolt  together.
