If the lake level keeps going down there will no water in the pond to ice fish on.

Thanks guys. Since there are no perch in Sodis and only dinks in Sandy, I will just stay home and watch ice fishing videos on youtube from South Dakota

Sodus perch are only 1 notch up from Sandy's. Still none of them big lake perch have a chance to equal up with Oneida slobs!! Big difference in color, size and taste. As we all know

Doesn't Lake O' level determine the level of Sandy Pond? If so, I'd say there's a long way to go...

I'm afraid that's only a "drop in the bucket". As Mr. Hirsche also stated as long as Sandy Ponds are connected to Lake Ontario the ponds will only be at the level detrmined by the Lake. And the Lake is way down!! In drought years (semi drought I guess they called it), that is going to happen. The Army Corp of Engineers lets water out for a year before at a rate calculated to not allow Spring thaw beach/land erosion (most Marina operators would say that they always let out too much). When we have a mild snowless winter and a semi drought summer, this is what you'll get. It looks like everyone will be looking for new hunting grounds this ice season especially if you fished in shallow water last year as that will be mud this year. Good luck to all-cya...

And believe it or not we have had water this low before. the boat slip behind my camp still has about 6" of water in it, in years past I have seen it where it has gone out 20yds before the water starts. We will be fine just have to fish a little further out than normal.
