It is such sad news that Terry has passed away, I had the honor of fishing with him at Gimli a few years ago, I really enjoyed his stories both in person and on the forums.

He will be missed

So sorry to hear of his passing.  He was a great sportsman, and a fine friend to have.  With his competitive spirit, he'll take with him the undisputed title of "Burbot King", because he sure knew how to catch them in BC. I'll miss his pictures of large lake trout, his posts and most of all, him saying "I'll keep an eye out for you!"

Thanks for all the kind words.

Terry was a true outdoorsman/adventurer. Check out some of his adventures on the BC site. Something not too many people know but Terry was a member of Canada's Icefishing Team. He was an accomplished tournament icefisherman........he nce his successful tryout with Team Canada.

As a youngster, he grew up in Ontario. At the time of passing, he resided just north of Prince George, BC.

Sorry too hear the loss. Where was Terry from?
Boy! This is a wide open question that a Mother has to answer........Terry, was born in Toronto. The eldest of three boys. He lost his right eye to cancer at 22months. Terry suffered unmercifully as a small child because of his handicap. He never complained about the teasing, just accepted it as part of life. At nine years of age after moving to Prince George BC, Terry discovered what he later called "God's country." He lived and played in PG for the remained of his life.  He loved the great out doors and the opportunities that PG had to offer for him were great. There is possibly not an outdoor adventure that Terry did not try. It is believed that his greatest love was for ice fishing.
I could go on and on but think that covers 'where Terry is from'. As for his handicap as a child, he learned to use it as a teaching aide for children and mentored many youngsters. He just seemed to know what they needed because he had the knack of putting himself in their position. This is a little more than 'here he came from', but hope it helps. Megan-Terry's Mom

Every time I go ice fishing I still think about my old friend Terry. Tonight, I called the family that he used to visit every time he went to his cabin. We talked for over an hour and of course Terry's name was mentioned a few times. Thanks to Terry, many of us that he left behind, still hold on to all the great memories he created for us lucky enough to know him well. R.I.P buddy  :'(

September was always the time when I visited BC to see and hunt with my old friend Terry. I thought about him this morning as I ventured into some nearby woods in search of a geocache. Miss you bud!

Three years ago after we lost our dear Terry, a doctor from the hospital in Prince George where Terry work, started a memorial scholarship in Terry's name. It is with great pride that I tell you that we have reached the goal and next May a qualifing student from UNBC will receive a scholarship in Terrys name.
Thanks to everyone for remembering Terry.
