For future referrence please....mod

I am in no way trying to start anything here and I commend you Hoosier for running a great board. I would like to ask however for guidlines on what will be acceptable and what is not. I have had several posts modded with censorship for obviously questionable abbreviations but at the same time I have seen other posts with very questionable sexual inuendos as well as 11 posts from 2011 with the word "damn" go un-modded. I just want to know what line I cannot cross as I enjoy this site so much and don't want to be "that guy". Thanks in advance for the help.

Most forums have a list of words that are auto checked for and if found are changed to **censored** without the mod getting involved.  It is part of the forum setup.  Other times, I have had a mod notify me that I need to change the wording of a post to make it more family freindly.  JT's eyes would fall out if he had to read every post on here and monitor them all. 

The only 'that guy' label you are going to get is the Jumbo perch king!

I was wondering if there was an auto censorship mode? I see that it might be the case. That was my point as well, that I didn't want to create a ton of work for JT and have him feel the need to follow my posts to see if I was conforming. I guess I learn through my mistakes so to speak.

Don't know about the Jumbo Perch King but I was looking forward to getting back after them Saturday but don't know. Whats the shoreline and main lake ice like on the bodies in your neck of the woods Wax?

I checked one lake today at lunch and there were 12 people on it.  Some were walking off, so I walked out with my spud bar to see how the ice was.  Top 2 inches is very soft.  Seemed to be 6-8 inches of hard ice under it and when I spoke with the 3 guys coming of they said the same....6 to 8 of decent ice under the soft stuff.  Very windy out and stil in the 40s here, so it better get down to 25 tonight like they say or it will continue to go.  Just for reference, this same lake had 12-14 inches of ice on it Sunday.  I did not check elsewhere as it appears tomorrow and Sunday may be it up here if we get the rain and temps they are saying next week.

I would like tp point out that although JT is the "Indiana Mod" other mods can mod the Indiana Forum.  In a nut shell, they cross state lines.  Trust me, it aint always JT pulling the trigger!

I think Himo needs to answer this more than Hoosier. I haven't been censored much this year. Although I learned the other night that posting a cooling logo from a different site is bad even if it is accidentally in your fish picture. lol What I don't get is the whole commercialism thing. Last year I asked a question about a jig company on the chit chat board and it got got in about an hour cause that jig company doesn't pay to sponsor this site and another one does. That seems to me to just take away from the whole experience of the site if its all about the money.

 I also had posts removed for abbv. words and told I was going to be suspended for 2 weeks,  seem like things were more strick this year for sure, looked back just to see how thing were in the past and was surprized when abbv words like mine were in old posts! Just sayin!

JumboKing(lol) and everyone, With the Indiana board it is alot of work to see every post that is being made.Everyday usally twice a day I read 2-3,sometimes 4 pages of threads,and that doesnt count the numerous posts on each thread.There are so many of you that I know I dont have to keep lookin at your posts as they are as I like to say KID FRIENDLY.Most of you have gotten my PM`s for posts that have been removed I say that this site is in schools and with words,even to the smallest degree are used daily by most people,the only way to keep others that will take there own consideration on what is not a cuss word and keep posting it.So i have to just start removing every word that would be considered a cuss word.As alot of you have seen,I am nuttin but a long haired hippy lookin biker freak and I have a mouth that can definatly compete with any sailor,but when it comes to our board,the kids are whats gonna keep our sport alive.Having IS in schools and having parents know that IS doesnt have to be blocked with there parental controls,is more important than someone being able to say what just comes to there mind in the heat of a post.
 There are other mods that sometimes check our board.Becouse of ALL OF YOU,Indiana is 3RD ON THE SITE FOR POSTS.So we will get others that remove posts.We all know this year is coming to and end quick.I just want to say,Ive met and enjoyed a great time with alot of you guys over the years and definatly look forward to more good times in the future.IMO there is no other board on the site that has as many great guys as we do here.The GTG`s,Trny`s,and just the meet-ups that we have,are second to none.YOU GUYS ROOOCK!!!  .....  JT

As much as I hate to agree with Ryan on anything  I have to agree with him on this.  It is nice to get a PM explaining why a post was deleted or moderated.  If nothing else, we know what we did to cross the line and can avoid making the same mistake again.  And JT has at least two other boards on here that he mods, and I know one of 'em has kept him busy.  I'm glad to see that our Indiana forum hasn't had the problems (and they have been ongoing problems for three seasons now!) that a forum to our north has had.

Keep up the good work JT, we appreciate it.  I know from experience that it's a lot of work and sometimes a thankless job, but worth it to us IceHeads.  :-)
