i was going to go this morning, got up and went back to bed, i got a bad habit of that, i get out of work at 930 tonight, if ur still gonna be there. i would come by. im still interested in the shanty. just been busy with union stuff. i have to be to work at 400.

Thick ice is NOT always safe ice !  With all the other lakes having dangerous ice I would be extremely cautious of that ice for sure. Especially because of the ton of holes that were drilled in the fishing area, they are expanding and weak areas for sure.  Be careful guys.

Went out last night.  The ice was still extremely thick 12"-15" and looked to be safe.  About 50% of holes are open so no need to drill.  I drilled a hole anyways to see if it would shave or chunk.  Seems to be at the in between stage.  Shaved for the first 6"-8" then started to chunk a bit.  Shore is starting to go a little, but still about 6"-8" there as well as of last night.  Better bring some good knee high boots though because the mud to get to the lake is nasty, but tolerable.  Need ice cleats as well.  Fishing was a bit slow but still manged a few crappie in that nasty wind.  Anyone go out there today? Please report the current conditions.

went out from 8 yo 10 am. just walked to pier stayed out of the mud.ice was good.lots of open holes .that made it easy!

Good to hear it was good this morning.  Hopefully it will be alright tomorrow morning.  I'm planning on getting there at daybreak.  Anyone else going to give it a try in the morning??

Last Tuesday before the league night the fellow in charge drove by where we parked. He was very concerned then about the ice and if we should be going out on it. We assured him all was fine and that we would not take chances. Be CAREFUL, we don't need somebody going in !  One incident and I really think they will look twice at opening the lake in the winter.  jmo

Well I'll be there around 6:30am and on the ice by 7:00 hopefully.  Da-Roc it would be great if you could make it. The bite has been pretty good in the morning and with all the open holes it will be easy to jump around and find em. And yes h2.0shaver I'm serious. Probably the last good day this year!!
