Bite picked up a little today. Tyler landed a 12.75 lb eye tonight on his birthday. Perch still biting good.

Hey yogi at least i was getting fish with teeth not whiskers. It was a blast i was screaming and dancing all over the ice. I missed the evening bit after that cause every time i started to fish id just turn and look at her and start dancing some more.

That's a Sal! Ties my biggest! Of course I've fished there my whole life w no guide and my Dad lives on the lake. Thing is my Dad made me throw her back as it trumped his biggest on the wall. Think I cried! Did get pics though and we caught several more sals like it or close to her that day! We actually traded the big ones for small ones to eat to some old men staying at the Surf in Marblehead. B willing to bet it was close to where that one came from but we were on the open water just after ice out. Plenty more where that came from! Awesome catch man! Can u get out w no Airboat now my Dads lazy and wont drive down to Catawba and peep it for me. Or he always says it's not safe yet as he did two years ago and it was 20 inches of Ice when I showed up next day. Good luck. I gotta get out there.

ice wasnt safe two years ago...even though it was almost 2 feet think, it still broke off. mother erie is never 'safe' always take percaution. erie is its own beast.

For sure... we walked and had small quad was real safe there and we didn't cross planks of wood on our quads to get there to a Berg. A little common sense...haven't iced an eye quite that big yet so I c the lengths to which one would travel. Hence waiting till safe ice or ice out. Or just buy a big... air boat right...that'd b nice like the guys are doing. That mount is going to b killer of that Hawg eye got me pumped to make a trip. What are ice conditions like up there?
