Need help with an old flasher
« on: Jan 11, 2011, 05:05 PM »
Hi Everybody,

I need some help with a couple of things.

I know it is a Fish Hawk flasher, yet not sure what model it is. Only thing on it is the serial number besides it saying "Fish Hawk" on the face of it. If somebody happens to know model number I would appreciate it. On the serial number tag, it also says "Waller Corporation". Any other info on it is welcome as well.

My other question is how do I go about hooking it direct to a 12v battery. Not sure if it even works, yet hate to hook it up wrong and fry something. The gray wire is for the power as shown in the 2nd pic. The 3rd pic shows where the wire goes underneath the metal plate. Not sure if there was supposed to be some type of battery box for 2 six volts or what, either way if a stock battery box existed at one time it is not needed now. If the flasher works, I plan on making it a new box for the flasher to mount on front and battery in the back.

Buying a new flasher is out of the question right now, so no need trying to recommend something new..

Thanks,
Matt

Update*** Took it out to the truck and decided to try it the way I was thinking it would power up. Well it does have a red line and can hear the whirl as it goes around. Next step is to take it to the lake tomorrow and try it with the transducer hooked up and in the water. Hoping all goes well.

Anyways, still curious about any info about this thing...like model number.

It takes two 6 volt batteries, equals 12 volt.

How are the batteries hooked up? Parallel= 6 volts, Series= 12 volts. I am sorry if I insulted your intelligence, I was just curious.
