« on: Jan 04, 2011, 07:08 PM »
I caught some this fall in 28 ft with jighead & minnow off bottom never really targeted them thru the ice. Wondering if they would still be in same area & depth or do they move to shallower water? Hoping to try & catch some this winter any input would be appreciated thanks guys see ya on the ice

I think they are going shallow at nite to eat, Afterwards they go back deep. If you get into weeds you should find the eyes. They will come thru in pods. You may get a couple flags in 15-20 minutes than have to wait 2 hours for the next bite. It is a waiting game be prepared to stay late to have good success.

I use bass minnows on the tip ups and minnow  heads on my raps. Just me but it works.

Large shiners on tip-ups and crappie minnows on jigging raps.

Swedish Pimple #2 Glow color .thats wat i like. Tip it with a walleye minnow. or a fathead. same thing as far as i know. Thats bigger than a crappie minnow but smaller than a shiner. i guess if your catchin big walleye than u need big bait

My go to jigs for walleye are a 3/8oz buckshot tipped with head half of a walleye minnow or a 3/8oz erie dearie with a whole minnow.
