Lost a member of my family.....
« on: Jan 04, 2011, 09:45 AM »
No, not that kind!  My FL-20 had to go back to Vexilar to be repaired. Although I do treat it better than my kids! LOL  No Marcum guys, it was something I did, not the unit.  She should be back by 1/15 so I am on a fishing hold until then.  Can't fish without my flasher!  If I didn't have morals, I would buy one, use it, and return it when mine comes back but I can't do that.

If you lived closer, I would say swing by and you could use my FL-18.  I won't need it for my son until the 16th and 17th.  Fremont is over an hour away though, but if you come this way toward Elkhart county, let me know and you can borrow it.

don't let it get you down and keep you off the ice...I feel the same way about my vexilar and hate fishing blind but I would still go if I didn't have it. Would be more of a challenge...although probably less exciting and productive.

glad to hear you are on the "up and up" though about buying one and returning it later. that is commendable and hopefully the fish gods will reward you all season!!

  double thumbs up to you!!!

It's a fine line between fishing & sitting on the ice like an idiot

Sounds like you need a camera as a back-up.

Thank-you so much for everyone offering, but I would not feel right borrowing one in case I broke it.  I will roll OLD SCHOOL for awhile!

Hey Stueb what is the diagnosis and what caused it if you don't mind sharing? I'd hate to hook up my new Ducer when it gets here today and be SOL.

Jigmup,

The unit will arrive at Vexilar tomorrow.  Will find out what is the issue when they look at it.  I know the transducer went bad because it lost the "clicking" noise.  I will let you all know when I find out.

By the way,  I have spoken to Vexilar about 3 times and there customer service rocks!!

I second the great customer service. I've been through 3 ducers in 15 years and they are always there to help. Sometimes I even get some extra goodies thrown in.

You know, I don't really have any issues with Marcum.  One thing that Vex has that Marcum does not have is a flat screen.  I love the flat screen.
Well two things, a Tri-Beam and I think I have found one!  Woo Hoo!
