out of state fishing
« on: Jan 01, 2011, 03:43 PM »
Of course when you plan a trip, your always a day late.  Arrived Wednesday and was cutting only 5-6 inches on St Clair.  The day before they where killing the 10-12" perch.  We only managed 1 of those.  We decided not to go back with the warm weather.  Fished another Metropark (Stoney Creek).  This lake has some really good crappie.  That bite wasn't on, but did manage a few nice gills.  Word of warning...these Metroparks have special hours on holidays.  Well they are not posted very well.  The park closed at 4 last evening and the only reason we knew that....a local police officer was waiting for us.  Being out-of-state, that is a misdemeanor and an automatic trip to jail.  We lucked out, the officer was in a good mood.  Please take note since i was not aware of this law.   :o
