I just got home about an hour ago, ice is definitely going to be ok down here in plymouth might need a day or two to help the edges firm back up .  Did manage a dozen specks nothing to brag about .

 Tonight:
Much colder with clear skies south of US-6.  Variably cloudy with flurries possible in far northern Indiana.  Lake-effect snow showers in southwestern Michigan could leave a coating to 1". Low: 14, Wind: W 10-20

Tomorrow:
Partly sunny and quite cold...still some flurries in northern areas. High: 22

thats the forcast for my area! sounds good.

My ponds are really iffy today (Jan.1) with ice receding around the edges and open holes farther out. Of course it will refreeze but I wouldn't get on them today.  Fortunately the lakes thaw slower.
I live in the midwest now but have fond memories of fishing in New England as a kid.

got  pic texted to me from my neighbor and it did not look good. On a lake on the barbee chain the ice receded 2' and there is still some water on it. the ice had that DARK look as well.
I will be staying home and prob head out next week.
This sucks... 3 days off and NO FISHING. The wife knows to stay out of my way today....  :%$#!:

There were some patches of ice that did not look good when my buddy and I left there yesterday.  I'm staying home today.
Catching the lunkers of tomorrow today!

Couple spots on Wawasee are open again and the wind and geese will only make them grow all day long.

You are not seeing things.   :o  I was surprised too....the wind and rain tore it up!  It's strange because several lakes around the area are fishable and have been fished hard.  Winona has had limited access this year so far.

Was on 8+ inches yesterday and went out today its down to 6. Also watched the rescue air boat go out a rescue some guys that went through out in the middle of crooked. decided that was enough for me today.

round lake(tri-lakes area) still has good ice.where the ice was thick ,the rain didnt do much damage.
where the ice was thin before its real thin or gone.
its creepy looking but was still 7 to 8 inches.

My brother was out on the Tri Lakes yesterday and is going tomorrow.  Ice is fine and the bite wasn't bad either for gills.  Wear spikes, the water is on top of the ice and you will get a little yet if you go down on the new slick top.  Tight Lines all.

just did a drive around and only saw a few guys out...a few on Hamilton nowhere near the boat ramp - closer to town...a few out on the backside of Silver near the hill...a few on James by the main road in a small cove (very close to shore)...and one guy way out in the middle of Crooked. ice looked a little sketchy to me most everywhere hopefully the lows for tonight and tomorrow will help plus what is coming this week. be safe!!!

definitely not good enough for me to get out on it...maybe in a few days with after the cold temps hit...someone had drilled a hole about 20 feet out and I thought I would check it out so I handed my girlfriend my keys and cell phone and only made it one step before getting a wet shoe...the next 10 feet didn't look any better!!
