I have an older Black & White Aqua-View camera. I have had it for years and love it. I use it in the summer and through the ice. Everyone talks about flashers adn watching the lines and everything but I actually watch the fish.

I love and use my fl 18 but my old camera crapped out. I like to take my youngest boy and wife and they LOVE to watch the fish come in and hit the bait.
It keeps them happy. and We all know if the wife is happy we are happy ;D
I have noticed that my boy keeps interested a lot longer with the camera. ( I don't mind it either). The only problem I have found with a camera is that it keeps me stationary. I do much better when I hop from hole to hole.
But we will see. Cabelas said that I have 60 days to return it for any reason.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Steve, it is a great camera, made for Cabela's by Marcum. Stop by the fishing department and introduce yourself, I always enjoy being able to put a face to the screen name! Just ask for Mike.
As always, I am............ walleyed

Didnt want to start a new post but would like some opinions of those that have purchased cameras. Already have several flashers.  After a season or two of using one, do you think that it was a sound investment? Is it worth having as far as picture quality and ease of use? How durable are they? I seen this same camera on display at Cabelas in Hammond. Looks like a good deal but I dont know anything about underwater cams. Any info appreciated.

Use both the camera and flasher as they both have a place on the ice.  The camera's are not much good when you have silted dirty water or when it's very dark.  The lights help but only close up.  A camera let's you identify the type of fish in the area and as such lets you adjust your presentation.  Camera's also show what type of bait gets the most attention.  Even though with a flasher and fish on the ice will tell you the same thing, a camera help make the decision faster.  Camera's are better used inside a shack, you can't see them comfortably in the direct sunlight.

Flashers are very good for those who "hole hop" in their search as they quickly show fish beneath the hole.  Work great for the late night outings and daylight viewing.

Each has value on the ice depending on the type of fishing you like.

The color sounds kewl, Wish I knew someone who has 1. I would love to see it work. I have the aqua view that has direction and temp built in. I really like it. Use it when I don't use flasher, mostly in shallower water. Going to have to turn on the t.v. tomorrow nite and focus in on some walleye.
