Seen people keep 8's but for me and the guys I fish with they usually have to be 11. All people are different. Whatever you feel like cleaning

my prefered range is 8-10. I will keep them up to around 12", but not that often, i prefer the smaller fillets, and id rather eat the little guys, and turn the bigguns back, just me

I like the 9-11 inchers for the deep fryer.  The larger crappie get some pretty thick fillets.

Minimum 9", but prefer 10" or bigger.  Won't keep the hogs over 12"-13" tho.

I'm not much of a pan fisherman when it comes to ice fishing (let the bashing begin) so maybe my opinion doesn't count much.  Outside of chasin' Jumbo Perch, I do it sparringly. I must say however that I think it depends on you. If you feel like filleting 6" crappie....go for it! If you enjoy the fillets, who cares! You certainly aren't going to hurt any fishery by taking small fish in fact in most cases you will be helping it. Last night while I was walleye fishing I couldn't keep the crappie off of my jigging spoon, after releasing around a dozen I decided that I might as well start keeping them (no I wasn't drinking you guys who know me) ;D. I took 8 home which is just enough to satisfy my meager panfish urge and fill my belly all at the same time. six of them were in the 9 to 10 inch range and two of them were 12 inch plus. Its all a matter of personal preferrence in my opinion. I'm sure your family won't ridicule you over size while they are scarfing down golden morsels!

Oh yea Icebucky...Nice fish but you might want to resize that so that it doesn't stretch the fromat so much. Not trying to start anything...Just sayin'.
