Those look nice, but you will have to take everything out of it just to put it back in the truck. I think that would become a pain in the butt.

Layed eyes on them. Wouldn't want to pull it by hand. Bet it sleeps 4. If I remember right you could almost have 2 xl sleds for the price.

looks to be about the same size as the otters medium size sled and they seem to be a lot tougher than the smaller jet sleds. -AZ

Not sure of the size of an Otter but the magnum is about the size of a pickup bed.

Adam,

Cabela's (store, not online) has the Otter Wild sleds.  I bought a medium last year, which is plenty big, and very rugged.

My wife bought a Jetsled XL for me with the wear bar kit from Riverside Bait n Tackle, Haverhill Ma. Can`t remember the price, was late season and I remember he was good to me on that and a 3pack of Predator traps. I pull the XL by hand. The big one would be awesome for 2 people w an atv or sled that fish together all the time, for help with loading etc.

I'm buying one of these and gonna be out jigging on an inch of ice. No joke! I know a few places you don't have to go more than 50 yards from the launch for some bass and perch action. I read that the xl jet sleds will float a 200 lb guy and they only have the 12'' high sides, the magnum has 16'' sides and i'm about 200 lbs with all my gear so i'll be good to go. Cant wait for hard water!

Where did you see how much weight it'd float?

be carefull on these things. while they will float the don't have much draft and are very tippy. once you break threw you will not be able to shift your weight enough to pull up to fresh ice. Iv'e done it in a JS1.

to find out how much weight they will support L'xW'xH'=cubic feet     (cf)x7.5=gallons    (gal)x8.34lbs= displacement

Thanks for the info.  I'm not going to use my Jet Sled XL for a boat, I'm just curious how much gear I can put in it and it would stay afloat.

I have the Otter  medium sled ... indestructible and huge and heavy ..got a small jet sled too ...a lot easier to pull my "extra " gear behind my Frabill adventurer ... I would not float in either one though.

Thanks for the heads up, i will definitely try it out in shallow open water first to see how tippy it is. If it seems too bad maybe i can make some kind of stabilizer for it. I don't think that i would ever even go though the ice if i put a piece of plywood down on the floor of the sled to distribute my weight but i guess it's better to plan for the worst. Also you said you've done it in a JS1, it makes sense it would be very unstable because thats a fairly small sled but i'm gonna be getting the magnum jet sled and it's 20'' wider than the js1 so it should be a lot more stable. I'm very surprised the js1 was even able to float you.

I forget where i read it but a guy said he had the xl jet sled and needed to retrieve some decoys so he floated out in the sled and the sides were a couple inches above the water, he said he is 200lbs. He did mention that it wasn't very stable.
