boat transducer to icefishing tranducer
« on: Aug 09, 2010, 02:20 PM »
I have a 7 PIN, Bottom line with a 19 degree transducer. I would like to make an insulated box for it and take it icefishing. Are there any certain numbers I need to look for? or ways of telling what 7 pin icefishing transducer will work with mine? I would like to buy 2, One 19 degree for shallow and a 12 degree for the deeper spots.Thank you for any help that you can give me.

Why spend more money-use the boat ducer. I have an FL18, but my backup/loaner rig is a Garmin unit with the boat ducer- works fine.

I guess I could, but it don't seem lay flat and straight, like the icefishing transducers I have seen. For the amount of times I do go out, I guess I could just go for the cheaper way out. Thanks
Try making a bracket for it on a 2x4 then place the 2x4 over the hole.

Mount your transducer to an old tip up. Mines mounted to an old polar tip up. Zipped tied to the spool.

I getcha.

I have no problem with my transducer in the hole and not below the bottom of the ice. Just make sure it is level and you should be all set.

Let us know how you make out during the season.
