bait shop?
« on: Feb 16, 2010, 04:21 PM »
Hey, I'm going to be heading up to Mayfield tomorrow leaving from fairfield going across the Eaton mountain road and through athens and Brighton. I was wondering if anybody knew of a place that I could get bait at along the way?

Thanks

Wild Things behind Bob's Country Market on the Benton Neck Road. He opens @ 5:30AM. Then you can just go right up the River Road in Benton. Same route I take often.

I think there is one more on the Ridge Road a few miles before Athens but I wouldn't risk it. Wild Things is tried and true, a sure bet.

Need company?  :-\ Smith Pond? Mayfield? Kingsbury?

Wild Things all the way.  The shop mentioned in Athens is Dellie Barkers bait shop but dont know what he has on hand. Very nice people - either way.  8)
