I say keep reading all the posts you can. Maybe watch some youtube videos on the style you are interested in, and get out on some ice with some gear!  Also, what the other guys said!  This is my second year on this site and my third year icefishing(Iceshanty.com has made all the difference)...Team Maine will get you there!  8)
