Nice fish ..should have killed it ..after burning its skin on the ice and more than likely freezing its eyes in the cold air that fish will surely die a slow death. Thats the mystery with catch and release and ice fishing..how many fish that we think were treated properly and released, actually live..

That's a harsh post.  The guy caught a great fish and you are telling him what he did wrong.
So where's your proof that the fishes eyes burned and that he is going to die a slow death?
You don't know that and they put that fish in the water a few time.  It's probably fine.

Deertick it may be harsh , but just calling it as I see it..I may be wrong, but the amount of time you can handle a fish on a cold day is minimal. It was obviously quite cold judging by the sound of boots crunching on the snow and frozen slush from the augered out hole.I would never handle a fish in that manner and expect it to live..but who cares its just a pike ;D

Great fish, but I'd tend to agree on most accounts, if someone actually wanted it to live...
